RESUMO

The motivation for this research is that the emission spectra using directly pumped laser diodes have not yet been found. We want to explore the luminescence properties of a co-doped laser material utilizing a diode laser as an optical pump. The research method used standard melt-quench and was stimulated by a laser diode (808 and 980 nm). The double doped of Nd3+- Er3+/Nd3+-Pr3+ ions with glasses system of lithium-fluorophosphate (LFP) had a strong band emission at 1056 nm, which transitioned at 4F3/2 â†’ 4I11/2 and showed a drop in intensity from co-doping with Er3+ and Pr3+ ions. The fluorescence width at half maximum (FWHM) of the glasses is calculated to identify whether the sample may be used as a laser application. The FWHM values are found to be 22-28 nm. Decay time values were shown to decrease with increasing concentrations of Er3+ and Pr3+ ions and were used for energy transfer calculations. The Quantum Yields (QYs), efficiency in the transfer of energy and the possibility transfer energy were measured and calculated that confirm the possibility of energy transfer from Nd3+ to Er3+ and Pr3+ ions. Since, the emission spectrum at 1535 nm was found, this is a good reason for it to be used as an optical device.

RESUMO

Rapid and sensitive detection of Dengue virus remains a critical challenge in global public health. This study presents the development and evaluation of a Zinc Oxide nanorod (ZnO NR)-surface-integrated microfluidic platform for the early detection of Dengue virus. Utilizing a seed-assisted hydrothermal synthesis method, high-purity ZnO NRs were synthesized, characterized by their hexagonal wurtzite structure and a high surface-to-volume ratio, offering abundant binding sites for bioconjugation. Further, a comparative analysis demonstrated that the ZnO NR substrate outperformed traditional bare glass substrates in functionalization efficiency with 4G2 monoclonal antibody (mAb). Subsequent optimization of the functionalization process identified 4% (3-Glycidyloxypropyl)trimethoxysilane (GPTMS) as the most effective surface modifier. The integration of this substrate within a herringbone-structured microfluidic platform resulted in a robust device for immunofluorescence detection of DENV-3. The limit of detection (LOD) for DENV-3 was observed to be as low as 3.1 × 10-4 ng/mL, highlighting the remarkable sensitivity of the ZnO NR-integrated microfluidic device. This study emphasizes the potential of ZnO NRs and the developed microfluidic platform for the early detection of DENV-3, with possible expansion to other biological targets, hence paving the way for enhanced public health responses and improved disease management strategies.

RESUMO

The chemical modification of polymer nanofiber-based ammonia sensors by introducing dopants into the active layers has been proven as one of the low-cost routes to enhance their sensing performance. Herein, we investigate the influence of different citric acid (CA) concentrations on electrospun polyvinyl acetate (PVAc) nanofibers coated on quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) transducers as gravimetric ammonia sensors. The developed CA-doped PVAc nanofiber sensors are tested against various concentrations of ammonia vapors, in which their key sensing performance parameters (i.e., sensitivity, limit of detection (LOD), limit of quantification (LOQ), and repeatability) are studied in detail. The sensitivity and LOD values of 1.34 Hz ppm-1 and 1 ppm, respectively, can be obtained during ammonia exposure assessment. Adding CA dopants with a higher concentration not only increases the sensor sensitivity linearly, but also prolongs both response and recovery times. This finding allows us to better understand the dopant concentration effect, which subsequently can result in an appropriate strategy for manufacturing high-performance portable nanofiber-based sensing devices.

RESUMO

We present new constraints on dark matter interactions using 1.7 years of COSINE-100 data. The COSINE-100 experiment, consisting of 106 kg of tallium-doped sodium iodide [NaI(Tl)] target material, is aimed to test DAMA's claim of dark matter observation using the same NaI(Tl) detectors. Improved event selection requirements, a more precise understanding of the detector background, and the use of a larger dataset considerably enhance the COSINE-100 sensitivity for dark matter detection. No signal consistent with the dark matter interaction is identified and rules out model-dependent dark matter interpretations of the DAMA signals in the specific context of standard halo model with the same NaI(Tl) target for various interaction hypotheses.
